Project Artist Statement:
For this project I wanted to explore a new aesthetic and I attempted this through the colorful collage look that I kept throughout the entire film with both the background and the characters.
I am also very intrigued by butterflies and love
encouperating them into my artistic work.
In this particular film I wanted to show the story and journey of someone (the main butterfly character) branching out from her comfort zone and sterile life to going out and exploring the world beyond her knowledge. In a way this story represents a personal need to branch out and meet as many new people as possible, even though there may be obstacles and hardships along the way it is important to never give up because eventually we all find our place in this big world in which we live.
Webventure Project
When I was growing up I loved writing stories and watching fairytales so with this project, I wanted to create an interactive story that the individual can determine how the story unfolds. I wanted to make sure that all versions of the story intertwine in some way which proved to be fairly confusing as the story got thicker. This project was fun because I could write the versions of the story as I went along instead of having to write it all out before I began. I would have wanted to create more twists and turns however I found myself running out of time because the creation of a website proved to be harder than I initially thought. That being said I enjoyed creating this website and might explore adding on to my we venture in the future.
